Meet Our Founder
Jade Luxton didn't set out to start a business; she set out to solve a problem.
Growing up in the Waikato with generations of family deeply rooted in New Zealand agribusiness, Jade understood from an early age what farming life really looked like. The long days, the challenges, and the small frustrations that add up, like the messy, difficult, and often skipped task of sterilising vaccination needles between animals. So she did something about it.
From the Farm to the Drawing Board
While studying product design at the University of Canterbury, Jade channelled her agricultural background into finding a practical solution to a problem she knew farmers faced every day. She talked to farmers. She listened. She refined. And she kept going until she had something that just worked.
The result was Sterineedle, a simple, clip-on holster filled with sterilising solution that fits any continuous syringe needle gun. No fuss. No mess. No excuses.
Jade's Why
"Animal welfare really matters to me. I come from farming, I understand the pressures farmers are under, and I wanted to create something that makes it easier to do the right thing, without adding to the workload."
What Drives Her
Jade's vision goes beyond a single product. She wants to see New Zealand's agricultural sector recognised globally for its respect and care for farm animals, and she believes that change starts with practical, farmer-driven innovation like Sterineedle.
